Project X Designs introduces Rolex Submariner PXD SS1

Project X Designs, famous for their customized Rolexes, is proud to present their PXD SS1 Limited edition http://www.modserap.com/rolex-replica-australia-for-sale.html Submariner. This watch, based on the current Submariner ref.16610LV, is a hommage to the James Bond Submariners of the 1950s & Military Submariners of the 1970s. Although Bond’s Submariner was less high-tech (in real life that is), Project X Designs tried to bring the ‘look & feel’ of that very watch by removing the crown protectors and putting the watch on a NATO strap. Most information available about the watches that James Bond actually DID wear, can be found on Dell Deaton’s excellent website

By using the LV (Lunette Vert) model of the Rolex Submariner Replica Submariner 16610, the watch instantly has the great maxi dial. A maxi dials means that the hour markers are bigger than the regular dots on a Rolex’s dial. Project X Designs will be only producing 24 of these stainless steel Submariners, featuring a black bezel insert (instead of the green one), enamelled caseback engravings, grey G10 NATO strap.

The original stainless steel bracelet, as well as the original box and papers are included. As you can see, the crown guards and the cyclops have been removed by Project X Designs, to create that vintage look.

Since nobody knows when the production of the original 16610LV will end (it is a time limited model, started to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner), it is a great opportunity to get the best from both worlds. A time limited omega seamaster replica as well as a limited edition customized PXD watch.

I think it is fair to say that this is not a re-edition or that Project X Designs is trying to ‘copy’ one of the original Submariners from the era mentioned before. It is a hommage to one of the biggest watch icons there is, the Rolex Submariner.

If you want to make this watch a bit more ‘Bond’ than Military, try to add the NATO G10 style strap from Corvus Watch. It is an exact replica of the NATO strap used by James Bond in Goldfinger and Thunderball. After doing research using HD TV and Blue Ray techniques, they finally know about the exact pattern of the NATO strap used in these Bond movies. Corvus Watch Company sells them for 39,95 USD. They come in three sizes, and you have to use the 18mm version if you want to be exactly like Bond, James Bond! Click here for the Corvus NATO Strap.

In my humble opinion, I think Project X Designs and Corvus should do some business together so the buyer of the PXD SS1 also gets the Bond NATO.

Besides the above Submariner PXD SS1 watch, Project X Designs also introduces the PXD DS1, based on the famous Rolex Daytona 116520. Rolex’s one and only chronograph, in their current collection that is. Click here for more information on the PXD DS1.

Audrey Tautou gives a tough but elegant turn as fledgling Coco Chanel

During World War II, French designer Coco replica Chanel J12 Chromatic, who extolled the virtues of simplicity — albeit very expensive simplicity — had a love affair with a German officer. She was once arrested on war crime charges but was set free through the intervention of the British royal family.

But don’t look for that controversial chapter of her life in the new French film “Coco Before http://www.tmfworx.com/.” The lavish two-hour biopic concentrates on her life before she became famous.

“I didn’t want to go into the 1930s and ’40s,” says writer-director Anne Fontaine (“The Girl From Monaco”). “I wanted to be free. I didn’t want to be controlled by any Fake Chanel J12 house.”

Fontaine was surprised that so many of her fellow countrymen didn’t know about Chanel’s history. “They didn’t know about her youth at all,” she says. “They thought she was kind of bourgeoise and very tough, of course, which was true. And they had the last part of her life in their minds because it is not too far from today.” (Chanel died in 1971 at 87.)

Part of the reason even French people don’t know about Chanel’s past is that she made up a fanciful history for herself and continued embellishing it.

She said that her father had sailed to America to strike it rich after her mother had died and she was forced to live with her two spinster aunts.

In reality, Chanel was abandoned as a youngster by her father at an orphanage at a Roman Catholic monastery, where she learned to be a seamstress. She got a taste of the good life when she became the mistress of millionaire playboy Etienne Balsan, and she fell in love for the first time with the self-made, married Arthur “Boy” Capel. Through Capel, she was able to get the financing to open her millinery shop.

“She had this incredible determination and ambition to be somebody someday,” Fontaine says. “She wanted to become some sort of artist.”

Fontaine didn’t begin writing the script until she met with actress Audrey Tautou, who has played child-women in such films as “Amelie” and “A Very Long Engagement.” Physically, Tautou is perfect for the part because she has the same diminutive, boyish build as Chanel. But Fontaine didn’t know if she was going to be tough enough. Ten minutes into their meeting, she realized that Tautou had the grit it would take to play Chanel. “I don’t think anybody else in France could have played that part,” Fontaine says. “This is the first time she’s played the part of a real, adult woman.”

Tautou was more than ready to play a grown-up. “It was new for me to experiment with the authority and the rudeness and the severity and the strength of Chanel,” she says.

“You would immediately see how charismatic she was and how elegant, even if she was wearing a completely common dress,” Tautou says. “She had a way of standing with a lot of elegance and class and charm. You could see she was very intense and concentrated. You could also see that she had a kind of melancholy.”

For Tautou, the key challenge was maintaining Chanel’s strong, often abrasive personality throughout the shoot “because I am not like that. I am much more sweet. I needed to have this authority even if I didn’t have to express it in each scene.”

Chanel, she says, was not happy because she was in chaos.

“I don’t think she knew who she was. She wanted to be different and was waiting for something to happen. It’s scary and frightening to be a rebel.”

British Omega Constellations – Update

If you want to know anything about British cased solid gold http://www.modserap.com/omega-replica-australia-for-sale.html Constellations of the nineteen-fifties and sixties, there is no point asking the rolex replica au Museum because they have not kept comprehensive records. Instead, you are left with the option of trawling through the www and applying a sieve to hearsay, myth and fantasy in the hope of discovering some nuggets of fact.

Well, that certainly was the case until British collector Andrew Romaine invested time and considerable labour in producing a comprehensive review of replica watches au relationship with U.K. precious metals case maker, Dennison.

Andrew has spent the past twelve months editing and up-dating his original essay. It has grown considerably, and includes new information that has come to light and additional pictures of the various Dennison Constellation models. You can access the up-dated essay here

Andrew deserves our sincere thanks for his continued efforts in filling this knowledge gap.

Capsule movie reviews: ‘Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky’

It’s a period romance between two well-known figures. Now take that idea, crumple it up and throw it away.

” Coco http://www.tmfworx.com/top-replica-chanel-j12-chromatic-watches.html & Igor Stravinsky” ignores its genre’s expectations — fitting for two such potent, avant-garde personages. All sentimentality and politeness toward these revered subjects is tossed aside. Under Jan Kounen’s direction, they are living, breathing people with undeniable flaws. Their affair is passionate but illicit, conducted as the composer and his family live under the stylish parasol of the couture designer’s charity.

The story essentially picks up where last year’s “Coco Before replica Chanel watches” (starring Audrey Tautou) leaves off, contained in the brief span of the titular liaison. Here, the smoke-voiced and striking Anna Mouglalis projects intelligence and unassailable self-confidence, giving a clue to why both films are so engaging: replica Chanel J12 Black is a prototypical independent, modern woman. Danish star Mads Mikkelsen is formidable. Yet his Stravinsky, the sort of cutting-edge genius one would expect to be surly and indomitable, is kept on his heels by Chanel.

The script (based on Chris Greenhalgh’s novel “Coco and Igor”) and the beautifully shot film express much with economy — as in a wordless sequence contrasting the withering of Stravinsky’s marriage with the blossoming of the affair, or a walk in the woods as exuberance and guilt play upon his face. Watching Stravinsky’s “Rites of Spring” outraging the Paris social set is a joy. Mouglalis’ effortlessly elegant Chanel, with her startlingly contemporary style, makes those around her disappear.

The Vintage Rolex Snake Pit

The following article is by no means meant to discourage you from buying vintage [Rolex] watches, damage the reputation of certain sellers or to doubt particular watches being for sale at this moment.

Recently, a number of http://www.modserap.com enthusiasts and collectors started doubting the origin and authenticity of certain vintage Rolex watches that were listed for sale. If you are not at home in this material, you have to know that collectors of vintage Rolex timepieces love the so called tropical dials [those that faded to a brown color due to over exposure to the sun],patina hour markers and patina hands. Prices of rolex replica au watches that have these tropical dials (click here for a bizarre example that my friends over at Hodinkee found) or dials with a nice patina on them, are typically being listed for a much higher amount of money than the straight-forward vintage omega replica au with a clean dial and hands.

So far, so good. When the patina dials or tropical dials are so much more collectible, more power to the seller. However, the quantity of patina dials becoming available on the collector’s market is amazing. Furthermore, some of the vintage Rolex watches being offered, are showing almost the same amount of wear and patina on dials and hands. Now, here is the sticky part. If you have a trick to speed up the process of fading hands, hour markers or even the entire dial (becoming the highly sought-after tropical dial), you are owner of the key to financial success.

Recently, a member of the Dutch Rolex forum pointed out a post on the Paneristi website, where someone was able to create an nice ‘fading’ effect on his Panerai dial and hands using an oven (click here to see for yourself). Besides using the kitchen for a one off, I suspect that there are chemicals available who will do the trick as well. Personally, I’ve seen new Rolex bezels disappear in a certain acid, coming out like grey faded Rolex bezels. I can imagine that something similar is available to create a ‘BNIB’ vintage dial (or even tropical) and hands as well.

To sum it up for you: Be careful with what you buy, especially when it comes to listings of vintage Rolex watches that ‘offer’ added-value like discolored bezels, dials, pearls, hands and so on. Also, even the written proof (or ‘provenance’) that comes with some watches should be traceable to an individual before these should be regarded as ‘authentic’. Also try to get information on the origin of the watch when there is no ‘provenance’, it is unlikely that a Rolex delivered in the 1960s or 1970s to Germany has a tropical dial whereas a Rolex delivered to one of the South American countries and exposed to a lot of sun light is more likely to have a tropical dial. Another tip is to avoid vintage Rolex watches that are for sale by a seller that has a number of watches up for sale, showing the same amount of ‘thick’ patina on dial and hands.

Authentic patina? Are you able to tell?

Use a healthy amount of distrust when examining a Rolex with a dial, hour markers and hands that look like it has been soaked in espresso. Also remember that even vintage Rolex experts do not always have the answer for you!
